March Round Up

March was a busy month full of celebrations in the Timmer household! We had a baptism and two birthday celebrations. The month kicked off with Fritz's baptism. I had a lot on my plate with getting things prepared and planned for the baptism, so I put my husband in charge of getting the cake. And long story short...we ended up with a blue camouflage American flag cake, and I'm not even mad about it.

At the end of the month we celebrated my mother-in-laws birthday and my grandma's 85th birthday. I was so busy the day of my grandmas birthday party that I totally forgot to get any photos! :(

This month was pretty crazy though. Fritz's fussiness really ramped up from weeks 3-6 (of course after Ben had already gone back to work). So I spent most of my days holding a screaming, crying baby because he wouldn't take naps any other way. Then to top it all off I got a kidney stone, which literally felt like giving birth all over again, and Adelaide got Influenza A. But on the bright side nobody else in our house got infected with it!

Then all of a sudden when Fritz was 6.5 weeks old, one day he fell asleep really fast in my arms and slept the rest of the nap in his bassinet. It was like a switch flipped and we had a totally different baby. He stopped fussing and could nap on his own! Plus it was around the same time that he gave us his first smile, so in a short time span life got significantly better! He also started doing longer stretches of sleep at night, usually around 6-7 hours, which felt amazing.

We also had some fun going to the Phelp's Youth Pavilion in Waterloo and just hanging out at home. All in all, March ended on a super positive note!
