This session was a dream. It was a new location for me to shoot at on a private property, but it felt like pure Iowa summertime.

When Hannah (mom) told me before the session that she was worried her two-year-old wouldn't sit still for photos, I told her not to worry at all. Some of my favorite family images happen when little ones are free to run, play, and explore. Instead of forcing smiles, we spent the evening chasing each other, running through the grass, and sneaking up on mom and dad - capturing their son exactly as he is in this season of life.

We also did a lot of discussion on the best outfits for the photos. They wanted to keep it a little more casual and make sure their outfits felt like them. So mom skipped the dress and picked out the perfect red top that POPPED against the green grass and the boys were in classic, comfortable white shirts and jeans.

And IMHO it all came together PERFECTLY.
